Garrison Crossing, the new neighbourhood on Chilliwack's former military base, held a two-day open house on October 30 and 31.
Hundreds of locals enjoyed the opportunity to explore two refurbished homes and 4 display homes. With prices in the 300,000 range for new homes, most visitors limited themselves to window shopping while attempting to satisfy their curiosity about the Garrison Crossing buzz.
Realtors on hand suggested that both the new and refurbished homes are selling quickly. No doubt developers and investors are extremely happy with the overwhelming interest in Garrison Crossing and the development plans for the surrounding Canadian Forces Base into the Canada Education Park.
Land values will likely continue to rise in surrounding Sardis neighbourhoods as a result of this somewhat sudden flash of development and international Chilliwack attention resulting from the repurposing of the Chilliwack Canadian Forces Base.
What locals used to call " the base" will soon be a very fashionable home to many.
